REGULATION

ABOUT THE FORUM


The 6th annual International Forum of Arts. Eurojurmala` takes place June 15th -19th at the Baltics seacoast resort town Jurmala.  This forum is a great event allowing young talents from different countries to show their abilities in different kinds of art, to get a feedback from professionals as well as to strike up a friendship and relax on the Baltic Sea coast.

More than thousand performers from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Belorussia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Germany, Spain and other countries participate in the Forum annually.
This year “Eurojurmala” celebrates its 5th anniversary.

Among the other performers there were such honored singers as Igo Fomins, Olga Pirags, Samanta Tina (Latvia), Teo (Belorussia), Carlo Cori and Roberto Meloni (Italy), Anne Veski (Estonia) participating in Eurojurmala as guest-stars and jury members.

The program of the Forum includes: contests, evenings of acquaintanceship, classes led by industry experts, parade of participants with a presentation of country of origin (national flags and costumes), flash mob, excursions and tours, creative exhibitions, conferences and other social activities.

The prize fund of forum is 5000 Euro!

There are different contests by nominations and age categories:

1. Vocal Contest;
2. Choreography Contest;
3. Circus Arts Contest;
4. Theater Contest;
5. Fashion Theater Contest;
6. Instrumental Music Contest;
7. Plein–air Art Contest;
8. Out of competition programs


All the forum’s events will take a place in Jurmala’s most prestigious venues including Jurmala Center of Culture, Jurmala City Museum and ‘Majori’ ice hall.
Gala – concert and award ceremony will take a place in a legendary concert hall “Dzintari”.
Video of forum events is a subject of TV channels broadcast in different countries and for also being live at www.eurojurmala.com.
Thousands viewers are to enjoy watching one of the of the most interesting European Art events of the summer.

THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CONTEST

Mass society integration in creative process via participating in the forum.
Looking for and promoting young talents.
Strengthening International cultural relations.
Exchanging experience and increasing the level of mastery.

FORUM ORGANIZER

The organizer of the Forum is International Creative Association „Intermedia” in cooperation with International Charitable Foundation of Culture „Dzintara Zvaigzne” and Produce Center „Impresa”.
Information support in Russia and CIS – newspaper “Musical Klondike”.

The most significant events organized since 1996: International festival “Morning Star – Jurmala” in cooperation with Yuri Nikolayev (this festival has been broadcasted on 1st Russian International channel), contest of young singers “Moscow – Jurmala”, reality show “Hello, Jurmala!” broadcasted on TV5 channel Latvia, International festivals “Art – turner”, “Debut”, “Christmas Surprise”, “Amberstar”, “Talent Show”, “Baltic Voyage”.

As of 2002 Organizer is engaged in cooperation with production centers and festivals of different countries: “Slavyanskiy Bazaar in Vitebsk” (Belorussia), “Vostochnij Bazaar” (Ukraine), “Canzoni dal Mondo” (Italy) and others.

FORUM CONTESTS

1. International Children and Youth Contest of Vocal “Eurojurmala”

Participants:
Soloists, duets, trio, groups, family ensembles, choirs.
Nominations:
• Pop;
• Folklore;
• Classic;
• Jazz;
• Pop – rock.
(Participants can apply to one or more nominations)
Age category for soloists:
Under 6 years; 7 – 9 years; 10 – 13 years; 14 – 17 years, 18 – 35 years.
Age category for collectives and groups:
Under 6 years; 7 – 9 years; 10 – 13 years; 14 – 17 years, 18 – 35 years.
All vocalists sing “live”, with a sound background “– 1” or a musical instrument (synthesizer or others), or a Capella.
Duration of the performance is up to 3:00 minutes.
Backing dancers are allowed.
Valuation criteria:
Cleanliness of intonation and quality of sound, compliance of the chosen repertoire to performer's skills and age category, stage culture.


2. International Contest of Choreography “Eurojurmala”

Participants:
Soloists, duets, trio, groups.
Nominations:
• Pop (disco, classic jazz, etc.);
• Folk;
• Folk dance stylization;
• Ball dance (European program, Latin American program);
• Classic dance;
• Non-classical;
• Dance show;
• Street dance (hip – hop, break – dance, house, etc.);
• Modern (jazz – modern, art nouveau, neo-folk, etc.);
• Children role – playing dance (under 6 years).
• Children's dance (12 years old)
(Participants can apply to one or more nominations).
Age category:
Under 6 years; 7 – 9 years; 10 – 13 years; 14 – 17 years; 18 – 25 years.
Duration of the performance is up to 3:00 minutes.
Valuation criteria:
Plasticity, synchronization of movements, virtuosity, compliance of the chosen repertoire to performer's skills and age category.


3. International Contest of Circus Arts “Eurojurmala”

Genres:
• Acrobatics;
• Clownery;
• Gymnastics;
• Rubbing;
• Tightrope – walking;
• Jugglery;
• Show with subject;
• Illusion;
• Original genre.
(Participants can apply to one or more nominations).
Age category:
7 – 9 years, 10 – 13 years, 14 – 17 years, 18 – 25 years.
Duration of the performance is up to 3:00 minutes.
Valuation criteria:
Level of mastery, artistry, theatrical (plastic, suit, culture of performance), creative approach to the selection of repertoire, decoration of program (requisite).

4. International Contest of Theater “Eurojurmala”

Participants:
School theaters, children and youth theaters, theatrical collectives, studios and associations.
Nominations:
• Music (musical, ballet, opera) theater;
• Dramatic theater;
• Puppet theater;
• Theater of plastic and pantomime;
• Street theaters;
• Theater of parodies.
(Participants can apply to one or more nominations).
Age category:
Under 10 years, 11 – 13 years, 14 – 17 years, 18 – 25 years.
Duration of the performance is up to 15:00 minutes.
Valuation criteria:
Level of mastery, artistry, theatrical (plastic, costume, culture of performance), creative approach to the selection of repertoire, decoration of program (requisite).


5. International Contest of Fashion Theater “Eurojurmala”

Participants:
Theaters of fashion, schools and studios of fashion, education establishments, and others associations of clothing modeling and design.
Participants show author’s collection on the free theme.
(Participants can apply to one or more nominations)
Age category:
Under 10 years, 11 – 13 years, 14 – 17 years, 18 – 25 years.
Duration of the performance is up to 5:00 minutes.
Valuation criteria:
Idea, integrity of the composition, originality of produce solution, figurativeness of disclosure of a subject of a collection, staginess, theatricality of the presentation, plastic, choreography, musical accompaniment.


6. International Contest of Instrumental Music “Eurojurmala”

Participants:
Soloists, ensembles, orchestras.
Nominations:
• Strings;
• Pinch instrument;
• Wind;
• Percussion and folk instruments.
(Participants can apply to one or more nominations).
Age category:
Under 10 years, 11 – 13 years, 14 – 17 years, 18 – 25 years.
Age category by ensembles determined by the average age of the participants.
Performance of teachers are permitted, whereas not more than 15% of total number of performers.
Duration of the performance is up to 5:00 minutes.
Valuation criteria:
Degree of possession of the instrument, cleanliness of intonation, possession of a dynamic palette of a sound, artistry, art treatment of the composition.


7. International Contest of Art Plein – air “Eurojurmala”


Participants:
Young painters, students of children and youth painting schools and studios, creative workshops.
In contests program includes two individual contests:
Contest of homeworks and plain-air works.
Nominations:
• Painting (watercolor, gouache, oil, pastel);
• Graphics (ink, pencil, engraving).
Age category:
7 – 9 years, 10 – 13 years, 14 – 17 years, 18 – 25 years.
Stages of the contest:
• «Vernissage» of homeworks (free theme);
• First contest day of plein-air by theme;
• Second contest day of plein-air by theme;
• Final «Vernissage» of works, results and participant award.
Participation conditions:
For participation in the contest accepted one homework (photographed or scanned) from each participant which attached to the application form. The claimed homework, participants bring with them and pass it in organizing committee on the first day of the contest.
Size of works:
А2 or А3 – paper, carton, canvas.
Works must be decorated in a frame or mat.
For participation in the contest each painter should take care of appropriate painting instruments individually.
Sketchbook, holding chair, art supplies.
After finishing each plan – air participants pass the work to a representative of the organizing committee.
Jury:
Popular painters, pedagogues from painting schools and Europe academy.
Valuation criteria:
Creative originality and artistic skill, originality of disclosure theme, the integrity of color and composition solution, mastery of the technique, in which the work is done, artistic taste and originality of vision.

Formalization of plein – airs works:

Plein – airs works participants formalize independently in a frame or mat.
On the back side of each picture, write in block letters:
• Author name and surname, age (full years), name of work;
• Full name of the institution, pedagogue name, surname;
• Country, region, locality.

JURY

The jury includes producers, pedagogues of the specialized educational institutions, heads of creative collectives and the organizations, cultural and artistic figures from different countries.
Professional jury formed by genres.
The jury's decision is final and not subject to change.
Performance of participants is valuated on ten – mark system.
The jury members by nominations will be published on the forum website.

REWARDING OF PARTICIPANTS

Places and Awards are assigned to participants in each nomination and age category, according to the results of scores which put by five members of the jury, according to the following grading scale:

1 place 45 – 50 points
2 places 44 – 40 points
3 place 39 – 35 points
Diploma for participating 34 and lower points

Grand Prix assigned to the winner in each forum contest.
Grand Prix may not be awarded, if participants not scored highest of scores.
By jury decision is allowed duplication of prize places.
In the case of disputes organizing committee has +1 vote.
Awarding of participants will take in the concert hall “Dzintari” on the Gala – concert.
By decision of the jury and organizing committee in Gala – concert, participate winners of contests, as well as all participants of forum take part in the theatrical – stage show of Gala – concert.

PRIZE FUND AND SPECIAL PRIZES

The prize fund of forum 5000 Euro:
• Cash prize 1000 Euro
• Certificate of participation in one of the contests of the producing center “Impresa” on 2016-2017;
• Shooting of video clip;
• A professional photo shoot;
• Sound recording in the recording studio;
• Prizes from sponsors and organizers of festival (cups, T – shirts with logo of contest);
• Prize of audience sympathy;
• Prize of the jury members;
• Prize “Amber Voice”;
• Prize for contribution to International – Cultural communication;
• Prize for the best choreography, performance;
• Prize for high performance skills;
• Prize for artistry and impression;
The prize fund distributed by decision of the jury and the organizing committee.

CONTEST REQUIREMENTS

For participation in the contest it is necessary to send:
• The application form for participation to the e – mail address: info@impresa.lv;
• Musical accompaniment for vocalists “ – 1” phonogram;
• Artistic biography;
• 1 – 2 photo in forum booklet (in JPG format);
• Link to video with performance of the participant;
• To pay registration fee 30% from selected package as soon as confirmation of participation is received.

Applications will be accepted till 31 of May 2017.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Change declared performance later than 10 days is impossible.
Technical requirements (microphones, racks, requisite) should be harmonized with the organization committee contemporaneously with the application.
In performance is allowed the participation of 30% of more participants who is in the older or younger age category.
The exact schedule of Contest activities can be received from the organization committee in 7 days prior to the Contest.
Providing application on Contest it constitutes acceptance with current regulation about the International contest of children and youth creativity “Eurojurmala”.

COPYRIGHTS

Sending an application form and participating in the contest “Eurojurmala” performers agree on photo and video filming, audio recording of their performances on a scene and other contest activities as also transfer all copyrights to the organizer of the Contest.
 
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

The expenses connected with the journey, medical insurance and accommodation in Latvia, participants carry out at own expense or at the expense of the organization directing the participant on competition.
For the foreign participants the organization committee helps to make visas to Latvia, reserve hotel, organize a transfer and excursion across Riga.
